About Me

My photo
I have been in the newspaper and website business for over 40 years. I am a fan of NASCAR and saltwater fishing. I graduated from Westminster High School and attended Frederick Communty College. I was a member of National Press Photographers Association, Eastern Motorsports Press Association, Carroll County Oldtimes Baseball Association and AP Photo Managers. I am retired now. I would appreciate any comments or just to let me know you stopped by, thanks!

Carnival Time

The firefighters’ carnivals started a couple weeks ago in Carroll County. They offer a great time to take photographs of children and grandchildren. Also, some great images can be captured at dusk. In addition, next week Sykesville hosts their annual carnival and they will have fireworks on Friday. You can see some of the fireworks from last year in my photographs.

Furry Feeder

I was upstairs when I heard, "Honey, come here." So off I went. When I got downstairs, Shirley was looking out the front window. She said "have you seen anything like this?'' I said, no! So I grabbed my camera to document the moment. There was a chipmunk in the bird feeder. He or she would fill their cheeks with sunflower seeds and head back down the pole that holds the feeders. It looks like something Chip and Dale would do in a cartoon. The creature would come back out and run back up the pole. The squirrels were around the pole and would fight at times. Other times the chipmunks would chase the squirrels off. The birds would feed on the other feeders, but so would the squirrels. We had gotten squirrel free feeders, but they didn't say anything about chipmunks.

Nice and Shiny

The second and fourth Saturday finds antique and classic cars parked on the Home Depot parking lot in Eldersburg. While most folks go to see the machines for different reasons, I love to take pictures of the chrome and hood ornaments. On the first and third Saturdays the cars meet in Mount Airy.
