After the heavy snow fall, we were able to see the sun late in the day in Eldersburg. Something to keep in mind is that before and after storms there are dramatic sunsets and sun rises. We were not disappointed today. I was on the sofa when I saw a purple and orange sky to the north. So I got dressed and ran outside. I missed the peak color, but still captured an image and then looked to the west where the sun was setting.

It's Over
The white stuff finally stopped falling around 3:15 p.m. Now comes the part of cleaning up for the next one. The weatherman is already talking about another round of snow Tuesday night. The sun made an appearance late in the day. Bartholow Road in Eldersburg was one lane for most of the day and Cherry Tree Lane wasn't much better. It is proably how most of the roads in Carroll County look. There was some drifting snow on both of the roads as I went out for a walk. While you are outside the quiet is broken by the sound of what sounds like a gun going off, but it is only trees and limbs coming down. So besides running a snow blower, some people are having to also use a chain saw. It looks like we have around 30 inches on the ground. In 20 years the young people like our granddaughters can say "It doesn't snow like it did when I was young'' and they would be right.
Snow Update 5
It is still snowing in the Eldersburg area of Carroll County, as it is over the state of Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic. This group of images were shot around 8:30 a.m. People in the neigborhood were getting their snowblowers out. I tried, but I have a loose belt and the auger would not turn. So it was back to using my camera. The birds have flocked to the bird feeders and Shirley has been tossing peanuts to the blue jays. There are limbs that have been falling off trees and one of the neighbors has a pine tree across his driveway. Shirley's pride and joy magnolia tree snapped in half. I will venture back out again around noon.
