End of Summer
Labor Day weekend always marked the end of summer when I was growing up, so I thought I would share some images from the warm months of the year. The pools would close and we would start school on Tuesday(okay, that was 40 years ago). The sunsets seem to be perfect for the end of the season, as the sun setting ends the day and Labor Day ends the summer. I love the squirrel, he looks like he is ready to fight. He was looking for peanuts that Shirley threw out for the birds. Some of the images of the sun and clouds remind me of Sunday church bulletins. The color foam on the windshield is from a car wash, where the granddaughters love the foam. I will keep my eyes open for more images before summer turns to fall, but already my mind is searching for scenes of autumn. There is one spot on River Road I plan to capture when the leaves start to turn. All of the images were taken in Carroll.

Wings and Things
I love to take pictures of nature and that includes bees and butterflies. I have made mention before about not seeing as many of them as in the past. That really rings true this summer. It has taken this long to gather some shots of butterflies to share. We have a lot of flowers and a butterfly bush but it has been slim pickings this summer. Last summer, our jasmine plants (we have two that we set outside for the summer) were magnets for butterflies. We have only seen one or two on the plants this year. The hummingbirds are shy this year also. I was able to capture images of this one last week. Of course I have kept up with the birds this summer.
