We took a one day adventure to Ocean City, which is an annual trip to many Marylanders. It was strange being on the beach instead of a boat. Most of my trips to the beach in the last 20 years were to wet a line and not walk in the sand. We left early as the granddaughters were getting their first look at the bay bridge and Ocean City. We got there early enough to park at Fourth Street and walk to the ocean before the life guards were on duty. I took many images of the girls in the water. They loved playing in the waves with Uncle Jason. I had a good time taking many photographs of the ocean, life guards, and the beach and spent some time reading. The Sony e-book that Shirley gave me for Christmas was prefect for the beach, so I was able to keep reading a library book. The man that rented umbrellas at Fourth Street was very nice, we just wished people followed the signs of leave only your footprints in the sand. There was trash over the beach, yet the town has placed many trash cans on the beach. Late in the day after packing up with walked the boardwalk so the girls could get hermit crabs, (their grandmother did the same thing about 38 years ago). We got to see Governor Martin O'Malley shaking hands and talking to folks along the boardwalk. We could see a storm coming, but figured we would be okay (it's been so long since we have seen rain, maybe we weren't sure what it was). The clouds were wicked looking over the ocean, the rain came in buckets and what a beautiful rainbow. The rainbow was the perfect ending to a perfect day at the beach.
