A Rainy Night in Gettysburg

I went to Gettysburg for a Celebrate Gettysburg magazine event. It was rainy and the lights looked great on the wet sidewalks and streets. So I shot a few images, as I wasn't dressed to get wet. I might have been the only person who thought it was a beautiful night. I love shooting lights at night.

Gettysburg

I had to drive to Gettysburg to drop off some images to Celebrate Gettysburg. Shirley rode along and is a good person as she puts up with driving around the battlefield looking for photographs. It hit me that no matter how many times I visit Gettysburg I always find new angles and views of things I have seen hundreds of times. We were in a hurry as we had to get back in Eldersburg in the early afternoon, so we had a quick drive from the start of Pickett's Charge to the High Water Mark. I always enjoy visiting Gettysburg.

Another Trip North

I had to make another trip to Gettysburg for Celebrate Gettysburg. I love to visit the county seat of Adams County. I took a spin around the battlefield with a very dramatic spring sky. There were very few people on the battlefield, it seemed like I had the park to myself. As many times as I have been to Gettysburg, I had never seen them working on the cannons until this visit. I watched them replace the cannon for a while, before moving on to snap some images of the sky and battlefield.

Looking ahead to next year, Celebrate Gettysburg asked the photographers if they had any winter scenes from the recent snowfalls. So today I went north with Shirley, Becca and the granddaughters. I shot some images along MD 97 coming and going and also in Adams County. I captured some good images on the battlefield as the snow was blowing around. There were some neat icicles at the Outlet stores and some footprints to a riding horse which I thought was funny. We had the battlefield to ourselves which made it easy to shoot. I know I have said it before, but winter is a good time to visit the battlefield with a camera. It was a great afternoon for all of us, even if we were tired when we got home. A big thank you to Becca for driving and putting up with me stopping to take photographs.
