The Maryland Renaissance Festival was something I always wanted to attend and now we have been twice in the last three years. This year's festival kicked off today and it's children's weekend. Kids under 11 get in free. This is the 34th year of the festival. What I remembered from two years ago was the food, music, sights and photo opportunities. There is something different to eat no matter where you turn which is also true of the music. The faces and color is eye catching. I can't begin to describe the sights of the many people dressed up period clothes. I would love to go back for the Irish or Scottish weekends. Shirley has a deep Scottish family background and loves Irish music too.
I love the Renaissance Festival! We attend the one in Larkspur, Colorado nearly every year. Your photographs really capture the spirit and fun, as well as the color, movement, and personality. Would love to get back to the one in Maryland some day...
