Friday evening I had the pleasure of attending a South Carroll High School boys basketball game. I wasn't there for the hoop action, the induction of the Class of 2015 Cavalier Hall of Fame. It was a blast from the past for me as I saw Bruce Cowan, Fred Barker, Jim Carnes, Ruth Lambert and many others that I covered over the years. Honored at halftime of the basketball game was Ken Parker, Vickie Leidner, Josh Boone, Mike Chenowith and Melannee Wagener. The basketball game was also the annual Gold Rush game so the large student body was outfitted in school color t-shirts. When Parker was introduced the crowd chanted ``He's a legend.'' He also got a standing ovation after a speech at a reception following the game. Coach Parker took in the game and reception with his wife Nancy. It was great to have a chat with Vickie Leidner, a former basketball standout for the Cavaliers.
